Introduction
  • The healthcare has become more effective at the same time it has also become more complex and involves the use of modern technologies, medicine, and treatment

  • These factors, coupled with decreased financial resources in more settings, can result in errors
  • The quality of any healthcare setting is its total system characteristics and without patient safety, there can be no quality of care

  • Healthcare safety comprehends all healthcare setting and includes the patient and staff experience as well as the clinical, environmental and services aspects of safety
  • Whether the focus is on medications or surgery, the goals are the same as to ensure patients are being treated in an absolutely safe environment
